Life Saving Appliance Supervisor

An exciting  opportunity exists for a Full Time Life Saving Appliance Supervisor  to join Wiltrading STACE, who provides safety inspections, testing, servicing, certification, project management and asset management services to the Marine & Offshore, Industrial and Defence sectors.

This role will report to the National Operations Manager. We are seeking for someone who will represent Wiltrading STACE in the best possible manner and accomplish the tasks allocated with thoroughness and accuracy.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure Technicians are sufficiently trained and experienced to meet operational and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead Lifeboat Technicians to perform regulatory inspections & mechanical servicing in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM.
  • Work effectively with the Operations Support team to map out technician utilization, minimise conflict between land based and marine based service requirements.
  • Maintain relevant and up to date technical knowledge by means of OEM accreditation/training.
  • Review and sign off on closing reports to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance for the relevant inspection.
  • Inspect project vessels offshore as and when required.
  • Submit the required reports on project's activities including vessels to the Upper Management team.
  • Mentor technicians to work autonomously in remote locations and set the standard for excellent service in the field.

To be successful in your application it is essential that you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Sound technical knowledge of the Lifeboat/ Davit industry.
  • Sound knowledge of SOLAS, MSC 1206, IMO and Classification society requirements..
  • People management skills.
  • Ability to liaise with an Operations support team to provide the best result for the client
  • Broad knowledge and experience in risk assessments and operational audit processes
  • Ability to work in remote locations when required
  • Ability to work offshore when required.
  • Proven leadership skills.
