Inventory and Supply Officer

 

About the role:

Responsible for the following functions in direct support of Insitu Pacific operations, engineering, maintenance and training activities:

  • Purchasing, inventory control, warranty and repair coordination, and coordinating the shipment of materiel (including dangerous goods).
  • Supervision, coordination and carrying out of warehouse activities at Insitu Pacific sites.
  • Warehouse activities include, but are not limited to: receipt, handling (both manual and operation of load shifting equipment including, forklift truck), storage, packaging (including dangerous goods), dispatch and transportation of materiel, compilation of deployment kits, tracking of assets, and disposal of materiel.
  • Provision of logistics support including: warehouse activities, capacity management, stock categorisation, materiel data management, inventory identification and accountability, provision of reports, stocktaking, meeting OH&S requirements, following defined processes and work instructions, and identifying opportunities to improve those processes.
  • Carrying out other duties as directed in support of the organisation.

Accountabilities:

  • Analyse historic usage and attrition and determine future procurement demand in consultation with SM&P, Business Development and Program Management.
  • Manage and report on an annual inventory allocation or budget.
  • Establish and monitor minimum stock levels, re-order schedules and quantities, and obsolescence management strategies.
  • Purchasing of equipment, spares and consumables.
  • Accountable for wastage and written-off stock, under and over supply, and stocktaking against recorded quantities.
  • All warehouse operations as promulgated in Insitu Pacific processes and directives including:
    • Access to the warehouse and associated materiel
    • Packaging, handling, storage
    • Transportation and disposal of goods
    • Management of dangerous or hazardous goods storage and handling
    • Inventory management
    • Accountability of all warehouse assets, including condition, location and disposition.
  • Processing of product warranties and repairs including, associated paperwork and freight.
  • Receipting and processing of purchase requisitions and orders.
  • Ensuring quality control processes and practices are followed ,including: processing of all non-conformance issues that arise.
  • Adherence to all relevant OH&S policies, procedures and directives.
  • Correct operation of Insitu Pacific support equipment and vehicles including, forklifts and trucks used in support of warehouse operations.
  • Provide inventory reports on stock levels, non-conforming receipts and equipment shortages as requested.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions relating to the inventory, supply and warehousing discipline and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Establish standard metrics for inventory and supply management performance and report on these.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehouse duties.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Experience in shipping of materiel, including import and export requirements.
  • Current Driver's Licence and forklift ticket.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to scheduled commitments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Holds or is eligible for an Australian Security Clearance at Baseline level.
  • The ability to work accurately and prioritise work as required to manage external/internal resources.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to critical deadlines.
  • Systematic and logical problem solving skills.

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing).
  • Experience in warehouse duties specific to the management and accountability of aeronautical products.
  • Experience in procurement activities.
  • Experience in working within a quality assurance environment.
  • Experience in working within a defence/aerospace related industry.

Physical Requirements

  • Fit to perform physical handling of goods and manual duties required for the position, including the movement of heavy equipment.
  • Required to walk up and down steps to access work areas.
  • Be able to work with hazardous substances while wearing approved PPE.
  • Ability to successfully complete the required physiological (functional) assessments as assessed and certified by an Insitu Pacific nominated assessor.
