Manager, Communications & Capacity Building

Spinifex Recruiting are proudly partnering with AgriFutures Australia to source a Manager for the Communications & Capacity Building team within their head office, located in Wagga Wagga. This is a Full-time 12-month contract.

AgriFutures Australia is the trading name for Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC). They are an organisation proudly focused on the future of Australian agriculture. They live and work in the regions and represent the interests and aspirations of farmers and rural communities.

The Manger will be required to provide a high level of collaborative support and leadership to the Research and Business Development teams within AgriFutures Australia, to the implement and develop new strategies for Agrifutures programs and events. This position requires a detail focussed individual with proven experience across large scale premium events, communications, stakeholder engagement, project management, IT systems, social media and marketing.

The Role

The Manager, Communications & Capacity Building role is a 12-month full time contract role and will be primarily responsible for:

  • Leading, implementing and developing new strategies for the AgriFutures Australia’s People and Leadership programs such as Rural Women’s Awards, Horizons Scholarship program and Rural Women’s Award Alumni program
  • End to end project management of large scale premium events
  • Ensuring programs are consistent with strategic plan (or plans) as well as the organisations five-year strategic plan
  • Building and maintaining a network of private and public investment relationships targeted at specific industries and/or the wider rural sector in order to meet the goals or targets set out within the People and Leadership program’s
  • Building and maintaining communications across People and Leadership programs including media and social media platforms, events and workshops and partnering with external programs that align with People and Leadership strategic direction of the business
  • Commissioning, negotiating, contracting, and managing administration around Investing in People programs (monitor progress, milestones and payments)
  • Developing, implementing, managing and being accountable for delivery budgets and program financial performance
  • Communicating and profiling of program outcomes
  • Building and managing investment relationships between industry, primary producers, companies, government and other partners in order to meet the target and goals set out in the People and Leadership program’s strategic plan (or plans)
  • Management of external communication, design consultancies and event requirements
  • Prepare briefing material for AgriFutures Australia management, Board members and Ministers
  • Reviewing and managing sponsorship requests
  • Effective management of staff as required

To be successful in this position, you will have tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, events or a similar field. Demonstrated experience with managing end to end communications campaigns, and events. You will also need to have demonstrated writing experience across all forms of communications with proven stakeholder engagement experience, and a knack for strategic communications.
