The Client

The client is an Australian powerhouse in the infrastructure and logistics market. An ASX listed leader in across multiple verticals, this organisation is on the brink of tremendous growth and full market coverage. With a high performance team and an inclusive culture, the organisation is looking for a talented, commercially minded strategist to help achieve success which will continue results to date.

The Strategy and Corporate Development team is focused on long term business growth and strategic direction, including CX, M&A, performance improvement and market intelligence project work.

With extensive exposure to senior leaders, the strategy function is well regarded and delivers huge impact on commercial results.

The Role

This position is suited to a passionate strategist who is diligent, autonomous and engaging in stakeholder style. The successful person needs to be a strong team player and have exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as a real passion for growing the business. Due to the diverse nature of the team, initiative and self-direction is a must, and in return huge amounts of autonomy will be granted.

In this role, you will be tasked with identifying potential strategic opportunities, analysing the business' growth and project pipeline, and ensuring all strategic goals and aims are met. As a highly respected member of the broader organisation, you will work with stakeholders across business units to retain the excellent market reputation of the organisation.

Your Profile

Aside from the right attitude and willingness to deliver strategic success, you will have:

  • 4+ years' experience in a consulting or industry strategy role, with a preference for exposure to construction/building or similar "heavy" industries (logistics, oil/gas, mining, resources, construction)
  • The ability to communicate with very senior stakeholders and a high level of gravitas
  • A detail oriented nature and analytical approach, with exceptional powerpoint/excel skills
  • A collaborative approach and a desire to join a team where impressive culture is fostered from the ground up
  • General "self starter" attitude and proclivity for getting stuck into tasks, ability to self motivate in periods of slowness but also meet volume requirements when deadlines loom.
  • Exposure to M&A, Customer Experience, Performance Improvement, Finance and/or Market Intelligence projects preferred.

What’s On Offer

A rare opportunity for a dynamic professional to take a step up into a role with ownership and impact. Surrounded by a team of collaborative peers, with supportive leadership and senior sponsors, expect to be stretched and challenged to reach your full potential. The chance exists to work on major strategic projects and gain deep experience in more operational aspects of running a business - this is not your average strategy role.
