Caseworker Parenting and Assessment

  • Eastern Suburbs
  • Permanent Part Time position (4 days a week) 
  • Work intensively with high risk infants and parents
  • Provide short term, intensive outreach service

 
Our client is looking for a well experienced Social Worker to provide intensive outreach services to complex families who are involved with Child Protection. In this role you will provide in depth assessments of parenting capacity and deliver intensive training to families, designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children ages 0 to 3. 
 

Your responsibilities in this role will include: 

  • In-home assessment of high risk infants involved with child protection
  • Develop interventions in according with the family’s assessed skill level
  • Deliver intensive skill development to families
  • Provision of a range of high quality written reports, case notes and assessment documents within required timeframes.
  • Working closes with other referral and agency partners.

 
To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of infant mental health and demonstrated experience in risk assessment of infants
  • Sound knowledge and comprehensive experience of Family Services and/or Child Protection.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Welfare or equivalent.
  • Current Working with Children and Police Checks, or willingness to obtain.
  • Current driver’s license.
