Estimations Clerk

Northern Beaches Hospital is a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors and staff.

As the Estimations Clerk you will be responsible for undertaking financial estimates / quotations for private, international and uninsured patients, providing as accurate as possible informed written quotation for the patient’s intended period of hospitalisation.

Including the effective management of eligibility checks for both private and internationally insured patients, patient admissions and discharge documentation and collecting monies. It also involves the handling of all patient and family enquiries and continual engagement with key stakeholders.

This role involves pro-actively engaging with international insurers to obtain guarantee of payments in a timely and efficient manner, working collaboratively with Emergency to provide fees estimates for patients presenting through the Emergency Department.

Customer service is expected to be of highest standard and is reflected by positive patient experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will also possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills including Excel & Outlook
  • Competent numeracy skills
  • Health Fund Knowledge
  • Previous administration experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
