Why our team needs you

Our Recreation, Projects and Parks department are currently looking for a Project Support Officer to join their Recreation and Active Living unit. This important role will provide project support primarily for the delivery of the Yarra Valley Trail project. This role will also provide project support for the development of strategic recreation places and programs, feasibility studies, precinct and masterplanning for recreational reserves, townships and open spaces, and drive the active living aspirations of Council, through participation and inclusion.

The Recreation and Active Living team are accountable, responsive and strategic; our purpose is to activate people and place.

  • Salary from $67,543 per annum (Band 5), plus superannuation
  • Temporary Full Time (3 year contract)
  • Fortnightly/Monthly RDO available

What you’ll bring to our team

Demonstrated administrative support, including preparing reports and presentations to Council and Council forum

  • Experience in the writing grants applications, acquittal reports and other tasks associated with administration of grant funding.
  • Passion and a commitment to engagement and consultation with community and passive and active recreation groups, in delivering recreation and active living outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and deliver a high level of customer service 
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of capital works projects and operational support for events
  • Experience in promoting and communicating recreational and active living programs and projects
