The 'North Shore Eye Surgery' is recruiting a medical secretary/receptionist to join its eye specialist practice located at St Leonards, Sydney, on a permanent part-time job-share basis for 2-3 days per week. Experience in customer service(medical, retail, banking or hospitality) is essential. Flexibility is essential in the hours and days worked as the job-share position requires relieving staff on leave.
This busy role is interesting and varied requiring the person to work as part of a small, friendly, professional team dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. The successful candidate will be confident and caring with excellent people skills and a good telephone manner. Your responsibilities will include: meeting and greeting patients; scheduling and confirming patient appointments; managing patient payments, invoicing, and processing Medicare payments online; dealing with enquiries from patients, doctors and other health professionals; end of day banking and reconciliation; accurate typing of medical reports( min. 70wpm); maintaining clinical records with stringent patient confidentiality at all times; booking operating theatre lists; ordering office supplies.
Essential Criteria are: excellent computer skills and literacy; excellent time management and organisational skills; must demonstrate initiative and a high level of attention to detail; able to work autonomously as well as part of a team; a respectful and compassionate manner.
