Senior Consultant (Social Research and Evaluation)

The UTS Institute for Public Policy and Governance (IPPG) is currently seeking a Senior Consultant to build on the existing strategic directions of the Institute, consistent with University plans and policies and contribute to the direction, leadership and management of the Institute.

IPPG is a leader in public policy, governance, social research, strategic planning, evaluation and leadership. The Institute incorporates the UTS Centre for Local Government, which is specifically committed to the advancement of local government policy and practice.

The Senior Consultant will source, manage and deliver social research and evaluation projects, which will primarily be for government and NGO clients.

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking social research, applied policy research and research and evaluation projects
  • Supporting and leading project teams to design and deliver high quality, innovative research and evaluation projects
  • Managing client and collaborator relationships
  • Business development and preparation of funding and commercial tender proposals consistent with IPPG objectives
  • Providing leadership by delivering high quality research and modelling productive practices

To be successful in applying for this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience in high level quantitative social research (including statistical analyses) and evaluation methods
  • High level oral and written communication skills, including experience in pitching for projects, facilitation, delivery of presentations and preparation of high quality reports and publications
  • Strong project leadership skills and ability to deliver, oversee and manage all aspects of a research project, including coordinating a team of dedicated research officers, project scoping, positioning and budgeting
  • Understanding of working in a commercial consulting setting - including designing project methods and budgets and monitoring delivery progress
  • Experience extracting, collating and combining data from databases with accuracy

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $99,324 to $113,119 pa (HEW 8)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits including flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
