Senior Financial Accountant

Pallion is the largest precious metal services group in Australasia and a top 5 Australian private group of companies. This multi-national group operates facilities throughout Australia, Hong Kong and mainland China. Pallion designs, manufactures and distributes precious metal products and related services. Pallion entities offer the following services: Bullion; Refining and Minting; Casting and Jewellery; Fabricated Metals; Findings and Vaulting.

You will join Pallion's Jewellery Division and will be responsible for reviewing and accurately completing sales receipting and purchase payments and enhancing current controls, processes and reporting to internal stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing weekly working capital reporting;
  • Ensuring compliance with all accounting and audit requirements;
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with tax compliance and reporting obligations;
  • Preparing and finalising monthly reporting for the Finance Manager to review;
  • Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly BAS;
  • Reviewing daily bank reconciliations;
  • Weekly cash forecasting, debtor/creditor and commercial reporting;
  • Preparation of monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations in line with group reporting deadlines;
  • Credit card reconciliations and processing;
  • Participating in monthly inventory stock takes, and work with stock and system auditor to investigate discrepancies;
  • Monthly intercompany reconciliation and variance investigations.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary education in Economics or Commerce with an Accounting and/or Finance Major;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, in Jewellery or Manufacturing industry desirable;
  • Minimum of 1 post year CA qualified or CPA qualified;
  • Advanced Microsoft application skills in particular excel and preferable Microsoft Dynamics 365;
  • Previous exposure to the precious metals industry not essential but would be very useful
  • Local taxation and GST knowledge
