About the Role

Southern Cross Care has a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate office in Rivervale, WA.

Supporting the wider Finance team, you’ll provide high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for administration and management of accounts, month end processes and reconciliations of accounts including bank reconciliation. The ideal person will have excellent demonstrated knowledge of the principles of debtor management, and strong data accuracy skills are a must.

We’re seeking a motivated individual with honed communication skills, sound critical thinking ability and a “solutions focused” mindset. You’ll also possess a demonstrated track record of success in accounting roles.

Key Duties include:

  • Assist with management of credit risk levels in accordance with KPI’s
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to reduce the credit risk of the organisation
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate on-time account payment
  • Support the Senior Accountant and Finance team with other duties and projects as directed
  • Preparation of BAS and FBT submission

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum of five years prior experience in relevant Accountancy roles, ideally in large complex service delivery organisations
  • Proficiency with accounting software (preferably MS Dynamics and People Point); and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
  • Good ability to work independently and in a team, with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills  with sound ability to prioritise own work and responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, investigate and think logically and critically in any issues and reconciliation of accounts
