Our highly experienced Defence division is dedicated to the delivery of capital facilities infrastructure and estate works program projects.  

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Due to an ever growing portfolio of awarded Defence contracts, we are currently seeking a switched on and proactive Mechanical Site Engineer with demonstrated fuel experience to join our growing Perth Defence Project Team on site at Garden Island in Rockingham. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be a key member of the Project Management team and responsible for the overall quality control for pipe welding and coating systems associated with the project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily activities on site
  • Quality control for pipe welding and coating systems
  • Read and Interpret P&IDs, control Logic Diagrams, Isometric and spook fabrication drawings
  • Select and action procurement of piping and valves
  • Ensure construction is carried out within the projects technical specifications and company policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained for the project
  • Manage the allocation of plant, equipment, materials and labour
  • Completion of all OH&S and QA paperwork
  • Provision of advice on any technical and engineering issues
  • Liaise closely with the client ensuring project runs to program
  • Ad hoc duties as required

ABOUT YOU

  • An Australian Citizen 
  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, Building or Construction Management
  • 3-4 years’ proven experience in a similar role – Defence experience is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in Flushing and Commissioning fuel systems is essential
  • Demonstrated background in Pipe welding and Coating systems
  • Australian based local on site Construction experience is a must
  • Solid understanding of costings and project budgets
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and MS Project
  • Strong team player with sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a can do attitude
  • Proactive and reliable
