Assistant Accountant

  • $60,000 to $70,000 Per Annum + Superannuation
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity with an immediate start required

You will need to be a diligent worker with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, grow and develop your accounting career within an Australian branded organisation. Assist with month end, reconciliations, journals and tax preparation.

Description

This role will require you to perform independently and confidently while having experience with reconciliations, tax calculations, stock reports and cost centre calculations. A friendly and communicative personality will be required in order to drive a business partnering aspect to your role.You will need to liaise across the wider business. Our client is highly focused on culture-fit and capability to work in a diverse environment.

  • Month end reconciliations (including balance confirmation)
  • Month end work including accruals and journas
  • Balance sheet reconciliations including follow up to resolve balance sheet rec points
  • Support the year end audit and internal audit
  • Support the work required for the annual tax computation
  • Bank reconciliations and credit card in-transit for AU and NZ
  • GST / FBT returns for AU and NZ
  • Stock accounting
  • Analysis of cost centre expenditure and variances
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks require by Finance Management

Profile

  • 1 years experience working in similar accounting role
  • CA/CPA Qualified/Part-Qualified
  • Intermediate Excel skills advantageous including v-lookups, pivot tables
  • Previous background in the service industry highly advantageous
  • Good communication skills, an ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders
  • High levels of accuracy
  • A working approach based on a strong desire to understand the work
