Senior Associate - Strategy Consulting

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join Aon Inpoint, which is a valued and trusted strategic advisor to (re)insurers and other financial and professional services companies.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the largest companies in the (re)insurance industry and a large variety of other clients. You’ll work within a close-knit team, largely made up of management consultants and insurance professionals. Together, you will play a key role in helping clients to shape the future of their companies and the industry.

The role mainly involves leading the delivery of consulting projects and supervising more junior team members on related workstreams. You will also have the opportunity to be involved across the broader client engagement life cycle, from business development to implementation support. We are looking for an experienced consultant who can help our clients to navigate through their biggest opportunities and challenges.

Little travel will be required, so this is a great role for those who enjoy client-facing consulting work but want to stay close to home. However, there may be opportunities for business trips to international financial centers, should these be of interest and subject to business needs.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the production of consulting reports and other client deliverables
  • Support the implementations and execution of strategic recommendations
  • Engage with (re)insurers to prioritise value-maximising strategic initiatives
  • Draft proposals and project initiation documents for high priority initiatives
  • Plan and facilitate interviews and workshops with clients and Aon colleagues
  • Manage junior team members in the delivery of desk-based research, data analysis and other work streams
About You:

To be successful in this position you will come from a similar role with a proven track record in making positive contributions to client engagement. Specifically, you will need experience working in (re)insurance, financial services, and / or management consulting.

You will need to be engaging, a people-influencer and enjoy building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We will be looking for:

  • A proactive and autonomous worker who can work with minimal supervision
  • Confidence presenting to a crowd, and an ability to influence your audience
  • An ability to mentor and manage more junior team members
  • Computer literacy and high proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Aon Culture & Benefits

At Aon, we provide colleagues with the support to make a positive impact together with ongoing opportunities for development, including the support of a team which will continually inspire you to achieve the best. We currently have approximately 850 employees in New Zealand. Globally, we have an employee base of 50,000 people, working across 120 countries. This allows us to build the best teams and gather the best thinking from around the world to deliver quality solutions and service locally.

Aon is an equal opportunity employer and we invite you to be part of an organisation that has a diverse workplace, values continuous learning and supports many charities and environmental initiatives.
