Technical Officer

Our client provides a wide range of chemical water treatment services and engineering solutions globally. They are well represented nationally and in response to the market, are expanding their WA team and seeking a Technical Officer in Perth. From chemical treatment, to waste water and reprocess, filtration plants, and the production of specialised cleaning chemicals, they are equipped to serve a wide variety of industries and with Australian manufacturing plants, can do this swiftly.  Along with a strong professional ethos and environmental commitment, this organisation can provide a platform for you to truly make a name for yourself and develop your career.  



In this newly established role, you will be a key liaison with customers, providing technical solutions. Duties include:


  • Develop and maintain the ongoing relationships with customers
  • Implement a support plan to meet customers’ process improvement targets.
  • Integrate seamlessly within customer teams to jointly achieve the process goals.
  • Deliver quality trouble-shooting assistance through detailed understanding of metallurgical processes and this business’s product range.
  • Implement logistics, forecasting and sales management procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
  

This role has significant travel (1-2 days at a time) with longer days, so working a varied roster is available to accommodate this.  Options include a 4 day week; 4 on 3 off, 8 on 6 off.  If you enjoy travel, this is a great opportunity to find some significant balance.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Science, Chemical Engineer, Metallurgist or similar qualification
  • Ability to pass a Coal Board Medical (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a mineral processing or industrial environment is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills - can relate technical concepts to clients at all levels
  • Outgoing personality with ability to develop strong relationships essential
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Sales experience viewed favourably
  • A can-do attitude
