Maintenance Manager

Lipa Pharmaceuticals is a complex Contract manufacturing business operating three shifts, 24/5 in South West Sydney.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a proven track record in HVAC services management, plant reliability functions, with a focus in Preventative maintenance scheduling, breakdowns and corrective maintenance.

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, this person will work very closely with the Chief Manufacturing Manager, Production Managers, Process Improvement team and Production Group Leaders to ensure smooth operation of production.

The Maintenance Manager will take on the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage plant reliability systems and systems are documented and are carried out as per agreed schedules across the site.
  • Ensuring all equipment, plant services and buildings have maintenance schedules.
  • Maintaining a structured work order system with key stakeholders for reporting of plant failures and improvement.
  • Conducting routine reviews of plant performance and report on root causes of failure and preventative actions.
  • Maintaining safe systems of work and plant regulatory compliance in relation to pressure vessels, HVAC, RO Systems, Pest Controls, air compressors, gas, confined spaces, working at heights and electrical safety.
  • Identifying and maintaining critical spares.
  • Ensuring that maintenance systems are up to date and provide forward planning capabilities for planned R&M processes.
  • Ensuring competency by of training and developing of supporting trades.
  • Supervising fitters, electricians and contractors to ensure maintenance and other work is carried out to the required standard.
  • Supporting production to achieve high levels of efficiency and plant equipment yielding.
  • Management of capital and continuous improvement projects.
  • Initiative to go the extra mile and deliver success across plant equipment.
  • Project management relating to but not limited to CAPEX.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications (Tertiary, Diploma or mechanical trade)
  • Engineering experience in an operational manufacturing business (food, beverage, pharmaceutical, dairy or FMCG )
  • Experience in maintenance systems in a fast paced manufacturing environment;
  • Supervisory experience is a must
  • Ability to influence, guide, engage and build on existing maintenance strategies of people and plant including toolbox meetings team morale building;
  • Ability to fully plan, resource preventative & improvement schedules;
  • Motivated, self-starter, keen to deliver results;
  • Improve processes and implement strategies focusing towards preventative maintenance;
  • Proven track record in P&ID schematic trouble shooting;
  • General knowledge of integration and PLC’s;
  • Strong management skills and proven track record of direct reports;

This role will form part of providing repairs and preventive maintenance of all site plant, equipment, utilities and oversee repair and installation work.
