The Position

Our security brand Omega Security Services is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Security Officer/Utility Attendant to join our team at a remote site in Cooper Basin, SA. The role is responsible for the provision of effective, efficient, and responsive security services across the site. Due to the nature of the work environment, you will be interacting with clients, residents, visitors, staff and contractors on a daily basis. As such, you will be a confident communicator and will be able to respond to queries in a professional manner. The role will be split into two - allowing for utility coverage where required. In the utikity attendant aspect of the role, the ideal candidate will be happy to perform any utility duties required by the business (cleaning, housekeeping, kitchenhand duties etc).

The position is based on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster at a Fly in, Fly out site.

Key duties

  • Conducting regular foot or mobile patrols on the sites
  • Provide basic response for: fire/security alarms, anti-social behaviour, room lockouts and basic first aid
  • Monitoring of critical infrastructure and personnel
  • Monitor Digital Mobile Network system (DMR)
  • Provide basic crowd control
  • Compiling periodical Security Audit Reports, as well as ad hoc reports as required
  • Compile the daily occurrence/incident log and conduct appropriate handover
  • Responding to incidents
  • Ensure site integrity and safety
  • Provide a physical presence in order to deter disturbance
  • Compile periodical Security Audit Reports, as well as ad hoc reports as required
  • Uphold all Federal and state laws

The Person

To be considered to this position you must possess all of the following:

  • Certificate II (or above) in Security Operations;
  • Current Security Agents License SA;
  • Current Crowd Control License SA;
  • Current First Aid Certificate or Higher CPR
  • Current Manual Driver’s License (unencumbered)
  • Current Passport with at least six months validity or Australian Birth Certificate; and
  • National Police Clearance
  • Responsible service of alcohol (RSA)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Observant, confident, good problem solving skills
  • Physically fit and reliable
