Who is Standards Australia?
We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body.  We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely with government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

We are a team of 130+ employees based in a great Sydney CBD location close to various forms of public transport.  We have a collaborative, friendly and professional working environment where we encourage self-growth and career development.

We are going through a very exciting period of transformation where the work that we do, the way that we do it, and the way that we distribute our content is changing. We are seeking a motivated, smart and savvy graduate to support one of our General Managers on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Strategy and Engagement, this role will work across a range of different areas from answering the phone and setting up meetings, to having day-to-day responsibility for a number of high profile business projects.  This role will be responsible for ensuring that the communications and operations of the General Manager are managed with professionalism, efficiency and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • General administration and secretarial duties
  • Business projects
  • Diary management
  • Coordinating communication between various Stakeholders
  • Management of information and records
  • Expense reconciliation
  • Travel arrangements, both interstate and overseas

What are we looking for?
After having achieved success at university, you will be ready to come in, roll your sleeves up and get involved.  You will be driven and grounded, ambitious and humble, and willing to work hard and learn along the way.  You will be comfortable in a fluid environment and thrive working in a team, but also have the ability to work on your own with limited day-to-day direction.  You will have previous work experience in both a customer facing role and within an office environment, as well as the desire to build on your existing training and skills.

Minimum education/professional requirements

  • University degree
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience in an office environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to manage time effectively
  • Customer excellence
  • Flexible and adaptable to any given situation

Working for Standards Australia
Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence form the basis of all we do.  We measure our success not only on the outcomes but on the path we took to get there.  We offer a flexible and positive environment where individual and team efforts are recognised and rewarded. The company is committed to a workplace which supports equal employment opportunities.
