Personal Assistant - Family Law

The position:

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced legal Personal Assistant to join our team in our Canberra office supporting one or more of our family law solicitors.  Your duties will include:

  • preparation of correspondence and legal documents;

  • client communication and management;

  • management of one or more solicitor's diaries;

  • file management and maintenance;

  • efficient time recording and management of financials associated with client files; and

  • providing office wide assistance to others when possible.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a minimum of two years legal secretarial experience, family law experience highly desirable;

  • have fast, accurate typing from dictation and written copy ie 60+ wpm;

  • have exceptional attention to detail, spelling and grammatical skills;

  • have experience in all Microsoft products, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel;

  • exhibit strong problem solving and time management skills;

  • demonstrate effective liaison with clients on the phone and in person;

  • work well in a fast paced environment and demonstrate flexibility and composure in stressful situations;

  • embrace a "team" approach but take individual responsibility; and

  • possess a "can do" attitude.
