Senior Laboratory Technician

Your Role - Senior Laboratory Technician

As a Senior Lab Technician with Linear, you will coordinate the day to day lab activities which supports the delivery of our clinical trials. You will:

  • Oversee and participate in general handling and processing of biological samples
  • Monitor laboratory processes to ensure all samples are tracked and associated documentation checked in a timely manner
  • Monitor laboratory KPIs and report to the team
  • Ensure adequate staff resourcing via efficient rostering to cover all scheduled tasks
  • Coordinate general equipment maintenance, calibrations and housekeeping duties
  • Provide leadership, support and mentorship to the laboratory team.

In order to assist in the smooth running of our busy clinical trials sample processing laboratories, you may be required to work shifts outside of normal hours – although most shifts fall between Monday and Friday and staff will be rostered to work weekends as required.

 

Your Skills and Experience

You will have at least 2 years of pathology, research laboratory and/or clinical trial experience, which is complemented by a tertiary qualification in a related field. You will be able to demonstrate your experience and prove your success in the following areas:

  • Effective communication with peers, supervisors and key stakeholders
  • People management, leadership and supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality focus (documentation and data)

To succeed in this role, you will thrive on teamwork and enjoy working in a fast-paced and busy environment. You will be tech savvy and be able to work your way around G-suite applications.

The Senior Lab Technician is part-time (30 hours per week) 12-month fixed term position with the possibility of extension.
