Tradesperson Electrical

GFG Alliance has an agile, entrepreneurial culture with high energy, strong levels of ambition, and sustainable growth plans. This brings opportunities for GFG’s people and businesses to flourish and develop. We work with our people to determine how we can grow our business and our future.  We are committed to uncompromising levels of safety, strong customer centricity and diversity. About our team

Liberty Primary Steel has an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-focussed Electrical Tradesperson to join our dynamic team in Whyalla in a engaging, community focussed environment. This position is permanent, full time and involves working 8-hour day shifts.  There will be regular opportunities to do overtime.

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will work as part of a team to execute planned preventive and breakdown maintenance throughout the plant.  This is a highly industrialised environment and so, you need to be comfortable working in very hot conditions near a blast furnace.

About your experience

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • An “A Class” electrical licence
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent Electrical Trade)
  • Experience in manual and PLC fault finding
  • Ability to work as an active team player as well as independently
  • Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and focused
  • Strong technical and electrical aptitude
  • Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To possess drive and ambition to learn and develop
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety in the workplace, complying with all company policies, WH&S rules and regulations and hold safety as a core value on our journey to Goal Zero.

Experience in an industrial environment is preferred. Any applicants that hold additional qualifications, including HV switching, PLC I & II and current High Risk Work licences will be highly regarded.

Next Steps

Across our different business units, we offer exceptional career opportunities for people who share our drive, passion and ambition. From apprentices and graduates to experienced professionals, we are committed to offering fulfilling careers and the chance to grow as our business grows. We would love you to be part of our journey.
