Your Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Team Leader to join our team in the Hunter Region.

Youth on Track is an early intervention scheme for 10–17 year-olds that identifies and responds to young people at risk of long-term involvement in the criminal justice system.

Your role will see you support service staff and manage the delivery of the program to young people over a large geographical area, and offer outreach services from Lake Macquarie to Nelson Bay region. A pool car will be available.

In addition, you will be responsible for data analysis and reports in line with funding guidelines and requirements.

You will manage a team and ensure case managers perform in a professional, appropriate, consistent and ethical manner and in-line with the case management guidelines of the service.  This will include to provide ongoing supervision to case managers, to develop strategies and plans for the team to improve job performance, work relationships and outcomes for our clients.

Additionally, you will also provide direct case management to young people.

At Mission Australia, no two days are the same, so you will also need to be customer-centric in your approach, self-motivated, flexible and extremely organised. Your  ability to drive outcomes and demonstrate strategic and leadership skills will be key to your success.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline i.e. Social Work, Community Services etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Previous experience working within community services
  • Ability to complete a wide range of reports to monitor business needs and provide direction to relevant parties
  • Proficiency in MS word and Excel
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s License
  • Desirable, previous experience working with young people

As part of our Employment screening process you will also be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
