ABOUT THE ROLE
  
Our client, a highly regarded firm based in New Plymouth, is seeking a graduate or junior solicitor to join their commercial team. Work will include but will not be limited to property, banking, and general commercial matters.
  
While experience is not essential, it will be important that you can demonstrate your passion for commercial law and a commitment to do what it takes to satisfy your clients.  There will be a varied range of work available, often matters that are being dealt with for the very first time.
  
This is an opportunity for the right person to make the role what they want it to be. Standards are high, but not ridiculous, and flexibility is well-supported at the firm. You will also have great training opportunities and clear promotional prospects. Our client does not have a narrow view of what success looks like!
  
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • 0-2 years’ post-admission experience;
  • Commercial experience will be an advantage but is not essential;
  • It is preferable for candidates to have completed PLSC and have an admission date but this is not an essential requirement;
  • Intellectually curious and professional;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • High standards – you don’t cut corners; and
  • If you have te reo Māori language skills, or you are keen to learn, that would be a bonus!
