Mechanical Tradesperson - Rollingstock

Applications are invited for the position of Mechanical Tradesperson - Rollingstock to join the MSF Sugar team. This is a fulltime position, located at our Mulgrave Mill, which is approximately 20km south of Cairns.

This role is key to the reliability and availability for Locomotives during the crushing season (June to December) and forms part of the Rollingstock maintenance team. You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, servicing, repairs and modifications on all Locomotives including engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulics, pneumatics and 12/24V electrics.

The position requires shift work/weekend work and call outs during the crushing season dependent on the needs of the company and may change from time to time.

You could be suitable if you:

  • Have a Certificate III Mechanical trade.
  • Are motivated and have a continuous improvement nature.
  • Good fault finding processes and decision making.
  • Experience with heavy industrial/diesel.
  • Understand the importance of working safely and setting a good example.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
