This position requires an individual to take some responsibility for the orderly running of a criminal barrister's practice including answering calls; meeting clients; obtaining signed client care letters; obtaining authority to act; obtaining disclosure; keeping a diary; updating a diary; creating and sending reporting letters to clients; liasing with clients when problems arise; briefing agents for court appearances; making appointments; booking prison visits; preparing jury trial files in an orderly fashion; assisting in the preparation of pro form documents including Case Management Memoranda; bail applications and variations; and notices of appeal.
Preparing Paye and GST information for the accountant. Banking cheques and cash.
Preparing private and legal aid invoices.
Located in a central auckland office ( chambers) comprising four criminal barristers.
Part time or full time depending on applicant.
