You will provide a timely, efficient and effective service that involves cleaning and shopping services for Domiciliary Care clients, thereby promoting their independence at home and preventing premature or inappropriate admission to residential care facilities or long-stay hospital beds. You will undertake household tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing floors, washing and ironing, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms/toilet areas, changing of bed linen and making beds, along with preparation and cooking of basic meals. You may also undertake minor gardening tasks like raking, sweeping and watering, and provide transport, shopping assistance and assistance with therapy services. Utilising a wellness and reablement approach to service delivery and the meeting of client directed goals, you may be required to assist with care activities under the direction of an appropriate clinical professional. Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community. You will have prior experience working with aged care clientele and be flexible, conscientious and capable of working autonomously in the community. Demonstrating the ability to perform under limited direction, you will work well within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and the disabled, and be willing to develop a positive rapport with clients and their families.
