Bass Coast Shire Council has an enviable commitment to the natural environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual, who is committed to climate change mitigation and adaptation, and working collaboratively to protect Bass Coast’s unique natural environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker, experienced in the climate change sector, have a sound knowledge of federal and state legislation and how these apply to Council.  You will also need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to advocate, represent and advise Council in detailed discussions about climate change.  The position requires a focus on strategy, policy as well as skills for developing and establishing strong positive relationships with key stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and can demonstrate an independence to develop and deliver innovative programs that will assist in reducing community wide emissions.  Additionally, you will have strong communication skills and the confidence to present to a range of audiences.  You will play a key role in delivering Councils Natural Environment Strategy 2016-26.
