Studio Manager

THE ROLE

As a key member of the support team this position is responsible for managing the Practice’s Administration, providing guidance with HR related items and managing the fluctuating needs of the studio environment. You will be a passionate and experienced professional with experience working within architectural or related professional service. 

 

Role and Responsibilities:

Working with the Practice Principal your responsibilities will include but not me limited to:

 

Human Resources

  • Managing staff procurement, inc. researching, shortlisting, interviewing, drafting offers & referencing
  • Updating employment awards, contracts & position descriptions
  • Reviewing and updating policies and practice processes
  • Managing inductions, appraisals and reviews
  • Monitoring staff leave and assist with approvals
  • Researching and co-ordinating professional development initiatives
  • Monitoring and catching up with individuals and liaising with Practice Principal on HR items

Studio Management

  • Leading studio environment improvements and maintenance
  • Manage the studio calendar
  • Coordinating and setting up meetings and technology requirements
  • Assisting with the day to day operation of the studio as directed
  • Managing small administration team and delegate tasks to the wider support team

General Administration

  • General assistance in maintaining our professional appearance
  • Contributing to the general practice culture and associated activities
  • Assisting with front of house duties and ensuring cover is maintained
  • Attending, coordinating and participating in meetings, workshops and events
  • Becoming proficient in navigating the nuances of our office equipment

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to research, gather, analyse and communicate data and initiate actions
  • Well organised, methodical and ability to thrive with strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership skills / ability to lead a team
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, MS Word and Deltek Vision 
  • Industry knowledge and working relationships with relevant industry groups
  • Proven experience in a similar role
