About the role 

Reporting to the Head of HR, the Senior HR Officer will responsible for providing guidance in relation to the Human Resources suite of policies and procedures including, but not limited to: recruitment and selection; employee engagement; employee relations; performance management and discipline; remuneration; training and development; talent management; workers’ compensation and injury management; and termination of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end to end recruitment process with assistance from the HR & Recruitment Officer.
  • Prepare letters of offer and employment documentation; and maintain employee files.
  • Collaboratively work with the  HR team to plan, cascade and roll out corporate HR initiatives and strategy.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to Managers on the interpretation of legislation and awards.
  • Assist with the design, development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Investigation and case management of employee grievances and misconduct. 
  • Facilitation of workshops, in-house training and inductions.
  • Injury management and return to work co-ordination.
  • Provide payroll back-up if required.

Qualifications, Skills Experience

  • Relevant tertiary level qualifications, industry specific to HR, IR or Organisational Psychology.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in similar HR roles.
  • Demonstrated capability to meet key responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage own time, set priorities, plan and organise work in order to meet objectives.
  • Ability to produce results despite conflicting pressures and competing demands.
  • A positive approach, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Time Target and Wage Easy advantageous but not essential.
