Our client based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne is currently seeking CNC milling machinist to work within their organisation who hold a number of government and private contracts.

 

To be successful in this role you must have :

  • Read and interpreted technical drawings
  • Worked on large machinery
  • Operation of FANUC controls (milling) experience
  • The ability to operate conventional vertical milling machines
  • A certificate in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent
  • Previously set machine tools, sharpened tools and maintained a safe and clean working space for the machine and the surrounding areas

 

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Read drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
  • Machine metal parts, fabrication and castings to drawings supplied.
  • Machine metal parts accurately using precision measuring instruments
  • Set machine tools
  • Use hand tools, drills, grinders etc as required.
  • Sharpen tools, drills etc
  • Carry out preventive maintenance on machine by checking lubrication oil, hydraulic oil etc
  • Maintain good housekeeping for machine and surrounding area.
