JT Dixon P/L offer an exciting opportunity to join an established family business (established over 90 years ago and over 40 years by the current owners), as our General Manager in the packaging and industrial supply industry.
The successful candidate will be someone who is strategic and tactical in the long term growth of the company and dedicated and enthusiastic about developing a great team to drive results in the short and medium term.
The business is on a growth trajectory with plans to develop an even stronger presence in the market. You will be empowered to implement the strategic direction of the directors and will be supported in the decision making of day to day operations.
The General Manager is also someone who can take us to the next level and provide some innovative thinking about our systems, structures and processes. We are open to a better and more streamlined way of achieving more.
We are looking for someone who has had a proven track record of working with in excess of 15-20 staff directly who ultimately report to you and solid communication skills with external suppliers, key customers and stakeholders.
About the role
Represent the company with clients and suppliers in a professional and trust worthy manner
Direct, organise, co-ordinate and control processes and implementation
Oversee the stock ordering, order despatch, invoicing and client relationships
Plan for the future and budget accordingly
Meet pre-determined sales targets, order fill rates and profitability of the company
Recruit and induct any future staff for positions which will be required

Skills and experience
No experience required in the packaging and industrial supply industry
Previous general manager role with direct reports
Excellent communication skills and leadership presence
Self motivated, strong work ethic and goal oriented
Great time management skills and a sense of urgency to get things done
Use of Microsoft office packages - word, excel etc
Strong experience in a fast moving product manufacturing or distribution business would be an advantage
