Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College is located near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate students.

Position:

Braemar College is seeking an Art and Drama teacher due to long service leave of the incumbent teacher.  We continue to embed a culture of personalised learning with an integrated approach, to achieve high standards of learning and teaching for all students. The possible teaching allotment is predominately Art to Year 10 and also Year 8 Drama.

Should you only have one of the teaching methods please apply. Depending on applicants we may be able to consider two part time positions one for Art and one for Drama.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

Maintain high standards of learning and teaching, assessment and reporting that is relevant, collaborative and future focused.

Deliver and promote student wellbeing within the College.

About You:

It is expected that you will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Australian Curriculum Framework.
  • Be a highly skilled and dedicated teacher that contributes to the Learning Area.
  • Bring sound knowledge of teaching pedagogies and practices.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification and teaching experience relevant to Art and Drama
  • Have a proven ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
  • Hold current Teacher registration with VIT.

Ideally, the successful candidate would be available for casual relief teaching in the interim and remain on the casual relief teaching pool after the fixed term assignment.

In addition, the preferred applicant will have an understanding of and commitment to, the ethos of Independent schooling and a willingness to contribute to College events.
