About the Role

Swimming Instructors are responsible for teaching essential swimming skills to children of varying ages, providing children with the ability to develop water awareness, confidence, mobility and stroke technique.

We are seeking two experienced Swimming Instructors to join our team at Westswim Learn to Swim on a casual basis. Commencing end of April, the Swimming Instructor’s primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide fun, safe and engaging swimming lessons to Westswim Learn to Swim participants.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of Westswim Learn to swim participants and all rules and regulations within the centre are complied with.

Weeknight and Saturday morning shifts available.

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising and teaching children of varying ages and abilities in an aquatic environment
  • Austswim certification
  • CPR First aid certification

Key Selection Criteria: Personal Qualities:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills demonstrating patience, clarity and empathy
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability
  • Demonstrated ability in providing a high level of customer service to internal and external clients, customers and colleagues
  • An enthusiastic attitude when teaching swimming and water safety


Conditions of Employment

Applicants must have or be able to obtain a DCSI clearance and Responding to Abuse and Neglect certification.
