William Roberts Lawyers is growing commercial dispute resolution and litigation law firm with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Singapore.

We act in disputes ranging from routine matters to multi-million dollar litigation and class actions.

William Roberts was established in 2005, with the sole objective of bringing innovation to the traditional legal model in the commercial dispute resolution and litigation segment. Our passion, drive and creativity in litigation and dispute resolution has resulted in our appointment to panels to act for major Australian and international corporate clients across various industries, including banking and finance, funds management, insurance, building and construction, transport and many others.

THE ROLE

Mentoring and career progression

The role will include the opportunity to work on matters with our senior litigators and Principals, as well as the autonomy to work on your own matters being mentored and supervised by a Principal or senior litigator. 

Our approach is to train, enable and promote our people through a mentoring and transparent merit based promotion model.

Range of work

Being a commercial litigation law firm not operating in siloed structures means that our people can experience working on a range of different commercial disputes, servicing different clients with varying degrees of autonomy. In the short to medium term, your role will include acting in:

  • workers compensation and dust diseases claims and disputes
  • property damage negligence disputes as well as fraud and contract disputes on behalf for our major general and life insurer clients;
  • contract and debt disputes as well as insolvency matters arising from such disputes for our banking and finance clients;
  • building and construction disputes;
  • assisting in class action and an array of other disputes from time to time

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate:

  • can demonstrate academic excellence of at least a credit/distinction average or post graduate qualifications,
  • is results and outcomes driven and has commitment to legal technical excellence for their level and experience; and
  • is motivated to develop and progress;
  • has superior written and verbal communication skills;
