IT Support Officer

We’re seeking to engage an IT support specialist to work across all areas of IT covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support. This role is designed to ensure the effective delivery of Company services by supporting our IT systems and infrastructure across our footprint.

 

The Opportunity

You will be flying solo in your support role to the business and will be the first point of contact for all IT support issues and projects – playing a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure and BAU across 7 sites. This role has the flexibility to be based in either our Newcastle or Ballina branch, however travel is expected as you are servicing branches between Southport and Tuggerah.

The ideal candidate will have prior demonstrated client facing experience within a fast paced and evolving environment, like the VET sector (Ideal). This is a hands-on and responsive role, so you will thrive on the challenge of variety, with the ability to sink your teeth into some big projects.

This is a key role within the business, therefore you must be a clear and precise communicator with outstanding documentation skills as you will be liaising with business stakeholders of all levels.

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Windows AD/Exchange domain administration
  • SharePoint administration and design
  • General networking experience
  • Group policy management
  • Windows desktop / server OS
  • O365 Administration
  • Firewall and Proxies
  • VMWare
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues at remote sites

Who we’re looking for (selection criteria)

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in 1st and 2nd level helpdesk support
  • Excellent customer service, analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to work with and communicate with all levels of staff to provide support and identify issues
  • Experience working in ticket-based environment
  • Ability to work independently
