ASICS - NSW State Sales Manager

ABOUT ASICS

ASICS is the leader in technical sportswear development and pride themselves on developing the finest products for sports enthusiasts across all levels. We are searching for an experienced, relationship-based sales executive who has a proven track record in field sales management, business development and / or key account management at a senior level.

 

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Manager of Sales, the focus of this position is to motivate, coach and manage a small team of NSW field sales representatives to achieve sales results, targets and manage strong networks with key influences and suppliers. You will be responsible for managing the sales growth of this iconic brand’s footwear, apparel and accessories range through building and maintaining strong working relationships with existing independent and national sporting retail customers in New South Wales.

You will be responsible for generating sales and developing new business in a competitive market and help grow the distribution channels for products in the assigned territory. You will be required to develop and execute new strategies to drive new revenue specifically relating to sales, volume, profitable targets that make a difference to the bottom line. Key result areas (KRA’s) include sales generation, people management, customer development, business systems and managing your own defined sales territory and customers.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relationship based sales professional who has a proven track record in field sales management, new business acquisition and / or key account management at a senior level.
  • Highly developed team leadership, mentoring, coaching and management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing innovative business strategies and achieving sales targets.
  • Advanced presentation, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, planning and time management skills.
  • A proven self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to innovate.
  • Ability to develop strong mutually trusting relationships with key clients and suppliers.
  • Qualification in business, marketing, management or related discipline (Tertiary degree desirable)
  • Experience in the sporting / fashion brand industry would be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Practical understanding of retail sales and / or merchandising would be an advantage
