Laboratory Assistant - Bowel Cancer Screening - 6 Month Contract

Clinipath Pathology is a Perth based subsidiary of Sonic Healthcare with a reputation as a quality pathology service provider, focusing on professional excellence, reliability and excellent customer service.

Applications are invited for two Laboratory Assistant positions at the Clinipath Pathology Bowel Cancer Screening Laboratory in Osborne Park on 6 month fixed term contracts.

This is a laboratory created to provide cancer screening analytical services to the Commonwealth Health Department National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.

Both Full Time (7.6 hour shifts) and Part Time (25 hours per week, 5 hour shifts) roles will be rostered between 0600-1600hrs, Monday through to Friday. However, rostering of hours outside of these time frames may be required commensurate with workload.

Please note, the full time position is a parental leave replacement position. 

Duties will include the following:

  • Receipting into the LIS, preparation for analysis and storage of Bowel Cancer Screening tubes
  • Operation and management of automated instruments
  • Maintaining an organised and efficient work environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good organisational skills and a strong team focus
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • An enthusiasm to take on extra duties if required
  • Good communication skills and a sound understanding of computers
  • Proven commitment to the provision of quality internal and external customer service
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred
