About us

The City of Kingston is south-east of Melbourne and is approximately 20km from Melbourne's CBD. We employ over 1,400 people in a diverse range of roles including engineering, customer service, administration, finance, family, youth and children's services, sport and recreation, health, parks and gardens, planning, arts and management.

We currently undergoing a transformation in technology and customer service.  We're looking for someone who is excited by innovation and is eager to help us improve. We're looking for someone with plain English communication skills combined and with a drive to build their technical capabilities.

 

The role

We are seeking a Service Desk Support Officer to join the Information Services team. The role will be:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks and printers
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.  Windows10, Office 365/Exchange, Active Directory, Apple and Android mobile devices
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across the company, in person or over the phone
  • Setting up accounts for new users
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technology

 

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 2 years-experience in a similar role
  • A formal qualification (degree/certificate/diploma) in information technology (IT) with an emphasis on IT support
  • A technical and logical thought process
  • A strong customer focus and a desire to assist others
  • An ability to stick to strict deadlines, prioritise and delegate

Very strong communication skills are essential due to the engagement across different business units. You will therefore be people orientated, collaborative and friendly.
