2019 Senior Registrar - Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Re-advertised Positions)

Your Contribution

The Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will be responsible for the provision of excellent clinical care to women of the Royal Women's Hospital and their babies and families. This position is available to trainees who would have completed 4 years ITP training. Preferred trainees will have successfully completed RANZCOG written and oral exam, or equivalent.

The Women's is committed to providing the best clinical experience; rotations are regularly evaluated and may vary from year to year.

This position is being re-advertised as we still have a couple of rotational placements that haven't been filled for the 2019 Medical Clinical Year.  Rotations for 2019 include:

Obstetrics (Term 2, 3 and 4 - 6th May 2019 to 2nd Febuary 2020) and Obstetrics (Term 3 and 4 - 5th August to 2nd February 2020)

Inclusive of Complex CS List, Ultrasound, ANC, Specialist Clinics (ie. FMU, Diabetes, Pregnancy Management, Multiple Pregnancy, Recurrent Miscarriage, WADs,), Wards/PDCC, Birth Suite and Women’s @Sandringham

General Gynaecology (Term 2 - 6th May 2019 to 4th August 2019)

The General Gynaecology rotations works in a number of different subspecialties and has a great exposure to Ambulatory Gynaecology Surgery, Menopause, and Vulval/Dermatology.  We are currently working with the Reproductive Services to develop some additional clinics and theatre within this rotation.

Choices / Sexual Health / Contraception and Abortion Services (Term 2 - 6th May to 4th August 2019)

The “Choices” clinic provides multidisciplinary care to women requiring contraceptive advice and services including insertion of contraceptive implants, and tertiary consultation for women with complex medical and social needs.  Further the unit provides a surgical abortion services including early medical abortion and surgical procedures.  The position is for a doctor to provide clinical consultation regarding the most appropriate options for each patient. 

These positions can be offered as a separate rotation (if required) or as a combination to make up a nine (9) month appointment where appropriate.  These positions will be ideally suited to any Trainee that needs to make up some time and specific areas within their training to meet the requirements for RANZCOG.

As the Women's is committed to ongoing professional development of all employees a wide range of clinical and audit meetings and specific teaching sessions is provided.

The Classification and Salary scale will be dependent on experience and you will be appointed and in accordance to the Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Doctors in Training Agreement 2013 and its successor Agreement – AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021
