The Assistant Accountant actively supports the Finance Manager to deliver the extensive reporting regime and own the recording of costs and the accuracy of the Balance Sheet. The role will support the management of the daily transactional processing and reporting with a heavy focus on inventory & cost analysis. The business is progressive and therefore you will be expected to challenge the status quo and develop improvement options.

Key attributes and experiences for the successful candidate in this role:

  • Responsibility driven, business engaged, commercially focused, results orientated, highly proactive
  • Career development through the growth in personal attributes, finance skills and broad commercial skills
  • CA/CPA qualified or part-qualified
  • 2-5years experience with exposure to either Balance Sheet reconciliations or system-to-system reconciliations
  • Hospitality Inventory management experience highly regarded
  • Experience navigating a large complex ERP and transactional processing across multiple business systems and business modules beyond small business GL and TB
  • Business end-of-week and end-of-month reporting for Revenue, COGS, Expenses, Inventory, Debtors
  • Highly experienced in Accounts Payable taking primary responsibility for the full order to payment cycle
  • Whole of business Balance Sheet reconciliations including intercompany, Fixed Assets and non-corporate taxes
  • Support business and performance reviews, analysis, benchmarking and reconciliations
  • Experience successfully engaging with non-finance managers
  • Interest in developing skills in business risk management and improvement initiatives
