Momentum Consulting are currently working with a leading Government Agency who are seeking a Recreation Centre Manager for a brand-new facility located in Inner Sydney.

This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your experience and join a collaborative Government agency with an innovative vision for the future.

You will be responsible for leadership and management of the centre operations to ensure it provides outstanding customer service whilst achieving operational, financial and business goals.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Management of staff, contractors and resources
  • Ensure plans are executed effectively to achieve objectives and KPI targets
  • Manage the centre budgets
  • Collaborate with the local community in order to plan and deliver engaging recreational programs
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Marketing and promotion of the centre to ensure community awareness
  • Building and sustaining relationships between the Centre and local sport community groups
  • Design, implement and promote sustainable social sporting competitions, community programs and events
  • Overseeing the management of programs

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, leisure, sport, recreation or allied discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent competencies and extensive knowledge of sports
  • Proven experience in the successful management of a similar community-based facility
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering business plans and operating budgets
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to lead staff with a hands-on approach
  • Highly developed communication skills- verbal and written
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and ability to manage relationships
  • A current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Working with Children Check
