Client Services Specialist

The Firm

Since the day Maurice Blackburn opened our doors a hundred years ago, we’ve been in the business of helping people; fighting to make a genuine difference to people’s lives. We exist to help everyday Australians use the law to fight back against unfair treatment. Our passion for righting wrongs is at the heart of everything we do. This is why we’ve grown to become Australia’s leading social justice law firm. After all, we believe wholeheartedly in what we do.

About the Role

At Maurice Blackburn we proud of the team that we have created and have worked hard to be the largest Superannuation and Insurance claims team in Australia. Due to internal promotions, we are currently seeking a Client Services Specialist to join our team, located in Melbourne CBD, close to public transport. We are seeking candidates who are available to work full-time either on a 12 month contract or full time basis.
The team are passionate about helping everyday Australians gain access to their superannuation and insurance. In this role you will be the first point of contact for all our clients who wish to make a claim with their fund. The role will involve answering calls and conducting client interviews over the phone to gather relevant information to assist the client in the claims process. The role will also involve liaising with external clients such as superannuation funds, ATO and other relevant bodies.
In this role, you will have the ability to make a difference to a client’s life, by utilising your fine-tuned communication skills, empathy and knowledge that you have developed through our comprehensive induction program. You do not need to have previous legal or superannuation experience as we provide all the relevant training to bring out your best in this position.

Key Responsibilities

We want candidates who have extensive experience in the customer service space and have experience working with a diverse range of people. Given you will be liaising with external clients, you will need to have strong communication skills, along with exceptional attention to detail to ensure you have all the required information. If you enjoy learning new technologies and like to work in a fast paced environment than this could be the role for you.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will enjoy spending time on the phone, taking initial phone calls from clients and providing the best customer experience. While building a relationship with the client, you will use your great investigative skills to assess viability of potential client claims. You will have ownership of your own workload and will need to manage your time effectively to deliver the best possible outcome to the client.

A law firm like no other.

Work with people who are truly passionate about the work we do and the impact we have on the community. From the kind of people who work here, to the kind of cases we take on, these values have run deeply throughout our organisation for almost a century.

A diverse and inclusive workplace is something we are absolutely committed to. We actively work to create a strong and inclusive culture enriched by differences in ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age and family arrangements. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We also offer great employee benefits, some of which include:

  • Bonus program and reward and recognition throughout the year
  • Ongoing coaching and career development
  • Fully paid gym membership
  • Salary Continuance & Life Insurance
  • 17.5% Annual Leave Loading
  • Wellbeing Programs for you and your family
  • Generous leave entitlements
  • Health and Wellbeing Leave

If you can help us see the world from a different perspective enabling us to solve problems, face challenges and service our clients more effectively, we strongly encourage you to apply for this position!
