Zero Latency is the global pioneer and leader in free-roam, multiplayer, virtual reality entertainment and training. Our technology allows your body to become the controller and explore any digital world like you do real life.  Our passionate team is based at our company headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, and is dedicated to creating the most immersive and engaging free-roam virtual reality experiences in the world.

Started in 2013, Zero Latency has grown rapidly after securing multiple rounds of funding and is taking the world by storm with rave reviews. In November 2017 Zero Latency took out 3rd place in the Deloitte Tech Fast 50 2017 awards for Australia, and 8th place in the APAC Tech Fast 500 awards, and our games won both first and second prize for best new product at the renowned entertainment expo IAAPA 2017.

Zero Latency created the genre of Free Roam VR with our award winning FRVR system. We opened our first public facility in October 2014. Now with almost 30 Zero Latency locations worldwide, we have already established a presence in North America, Asia, and Europe, in addition to our Australian sites.

Over the next 5 years we will grow to a global network of over 100 interconnected entertainment centres, expanding our platform to publish premium content that will include the world's largest FRVR esports network.

 

Your role

This role is new to our organisation, so you will be leading a new people and culture department for our company and you will be empowered to drive a significant shift in line with the cultural identity of Zero Latency.  If you thrive on a challenge, enjoy transforming and changing the HR landscape, you are positive, dynamic and resilient – we are your next opportunity!

Responsibilities

Primary

  • Lead strategic HR initiatives on leadership, performance, change management, remuneration, capability, engagement, talent, and diversity & inclusion
  • Coach and advise managers on employee relations matters such as performance management and policy interpretation
  • Develop and support leadership capabilities within the organization
  • Engage and support leaders to be accountable for driving high performing teams
  • Provide interpretation of and guidance to policies and workplace matters for managers and employees
  • Handle any employee relations issues that arise
  • Develop a salary review framework, including salary benchmarking guidance
  • Assist with the implementation/administration of KPIs
  • Lead and promote positive people and culture initiatives across the company, e.g. professional development, mental wellbeing and physical wellbeing
  • Improve talent acquisition and staff retention
  • Assist with change management

Secondary

  • Identify and share people and culture best practices and recommendations within the company
  • Light HR administrative work such as reviewing employment contracts / letters and ensuring probation reviews are conducted
  • Develop new policies and reviewing existing policies
  • Act as a liaison and second opinion for any advice provided by our external HR Consultants

 

Hours

Please note: this is a part-time role for 0.6FTE, or 23 hours per week. These hours can be worked across 3 to 5 days, e.g. 3 full days or 5 days of 4.6 hours.

 

Who you are

This role combines aspects of a traditional HR Manager role and of a HR Business Partner role, and would suit someone with experience looking to lead the HR function in a smaller company. Ideally, you are a massive fan of cutting-edge technology, and VR in general.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Must have a degree in HR
  • At least 4 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the technology industry will be highly regarded
