Irrigation Technician - Qualified

We are seeking a motivated and driven full time Irrigation Technician with leadership and initiative to work closely with our Head Irrigation Technician. In this role you will receive the mentoring and guidance to continue to grow your expertise and experience. This role would suit an individual who is prepared to pave their career path to develop further into a Head Technician role with a strong brand.

What will I be doing?

Under the direction of the course superintendent and the Head Irrigation Technician, the Irrigation Technician assists and works both with, and also independently of the Head Irrigation Technician in the repairing and maintenance of the irrigation system. The Irrigation Technician assists in maintaining a clean parts store area, contributes to a preventative maintenance program of the irrigation system, and places safety procedures as a top priority.

·         Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of the irrigation system with the Head Irrigation Technician and/or the Course Superintendent.

·         Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs irrigation defects/failures as required across all areas of the irrigation system on a regular basis.

·         Prioritises irrigation repair and maintenance work.

·         Sets up and modifies irrigation schedules in consultation with others as needed.

·         Installing new irrigation components when required.

 

What does the Club need from me?

  • A trade certificate in Greenkeeping or relevant Irrigation qualification.
  • Be reliable, punctual and have and eye for detail.
  • Working knowledge, repair and maintenance experience with both Polyethylene and PVC pipe.
  • 240v – 24v fault finding experience.
  • Experience with TORO and Rain Bird sprinklers.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Ability to move heavy objects in a safe manner.
  • Have a good knowledge of irrigation fittings.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with all other employees and the public.
  • Maintenance of a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assistance in maintaining a clean and well-organised workshop and parts room.
  • An understanding of the game of golf 
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
