Arche Health is a not for profit community-based organisation that provides quality support services to primary healthcare professionals as well as delivering quality health care services to the local community.

Our dedicated team work in Perth Metro North West & South East region, across the Indigenous and mainstream primary care sectors, to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to obtain primary health care as required, provide care coordination services to eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic disease/s who require coordinated, multidisciplinary care, and improve access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to culturally appropriate mainstream primary care.

This is an opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated person to further develop their career in Primary Health Care.

The Candidate

The successful candidate for this position will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a demonstrated understanding and awareness of the specific issues around primary health care needs.

The Indigenous Health Project Officer (IHPO) role requires that you be highly motivated and dedicated to making a difference to patient and family care. You will be required to provide high quality culturally appropriate services and work collaboratively with other members of a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to work with the Primary Health Clinics, Allied Health providers to improve access to by Aboriginal people and provide education sessions to enable and improve Aboriginal clients to self-manage their health and wellbeing.

Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this role as per Section 50D Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
