Leo Cussen Centre for Law is a leading education and training organisation providing practical legal training (PLT) to law graduates and continuing professional development programs (CPD) to practising lawyers and other professionals.

We have gone through rapid expansion in recent years.  Building on existing high-quality services and reaching new groups, we are expanding delivery of our services into the legal education market on a national basis.  Leo Cussen is an organisation ready to face the future.  Our strategic move to new premises with the very latest innovative technology enables a range of exciting new services to be offered to the rapidly changing legal education market.

About the role
We are developing our service offering to meet emerging needs by expanding existing services and adding new services on a national scale.  The purpose of this new role is to identify and secure new business for Leo Cussen as a quality training provider, while supporting the growth ambitions of PLT and CPD and workplace delivery teams. As this is a new role, it does require considerable ability to innovate and apply flexibility, with appropriate guidance.  Creativity and good relationships are likely to be successful in the environment in which Leo Cussen operates.

About you
Ideally you will have relevant experience within the tertiary education and professional development sector and be comfortable developing business opportunities with existing and new clients.  You will bring energy to the role.  You are a self-motivator and can identify and communicate ideas for expanding and improving current services.  It is expected that you will be able to bring creative, market focused ideas to the table and challenge teams to think laterally about business building opportunities.

We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

  • A degree qualification within Business Development and 5+ years’ experience
  • Experience identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • An understanding of the tertiary education and professional development sectors
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a sound business development plan
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to achieve concrete results with integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to all levels across diverse audiences and influence decision makers

We understand that our people are our greatest asset. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing and high standards of professionalism. We look for diversity of experience and background and then provide the tools and training for career success.

Flexible working options will be considered.
