Perl Developer - Sydney Office - Max term contract

A little about Domain:

Domain Group offers an ecosystem of leading multi-platform property solutions. No matter what you’re after, Domain Group has your property needs covered.

In this 6-month contract role you will be working on an established product in the MyDesktop team. MyDesktop is the largest CRM of choice by leading real estate agents across Australia and supports over 36,000 agents.

You will be joining a team with a passion for delivering products to customers. We are not a bank or major enterprise - we're biased toward action instead of bureaucracy - continuous delivery, automation, refactoring, and Agile.

A little about the role:

In this 6-month contract role you will assist in adding new features as well as reducing technical debt and uplifting the existing codebase to a new standard.

Your day to day will be filled with:

  • Improving legacy system, refactoring code and implementing best practices.
  • Supporting DevOps with CI/CD.
  • Minimising technical debt.
  • Improving System performance.
  • Supporting ongoing business requirements.
  • Maximising uptime and stability of MyDesktop Systems.

A lot about you:

  • Perl experience is essential and PHP, Python, Java is a plus.
  • You have had experience working with a perl framework like Moose, Dancer, OOP, Class:DBI etc.
  • You have automated testing experience and have worked with AWS (these are a must).
  • Experience with UNIX based systems and web servers desirable.
  • You know all about CI / CD best practices.
  • You are a mastery of two or more server-side languages.
  • You are confident working with GIT and proficient in SQL.
  • You are comfortable working with Data - CRUD functions, data Integration, data ingestion and processing.
  • You have experience with working with a legacy codebase.
  • Leading relational database is something you have done before.
  • You are someone with an understanding of Front-end technologies (React.js is a real plus).

Why you will love it:

We promote a healthy work-life balance at Domain and when you are at work we want you to be comfortable. So coming to work in jeans and T-shirt is pretty much the norm. We also promote flexibility and in this role if you need to work from home or outside of the office from time to time that’s fine with us.

Everyone also has access to a Pluralsight license and other online learning courses, we are keen attendees at tech conferences and often the ones taking to the stage and speaking at the events ourselves! We host meet ups here on site, as well as quarterly innovation weeks to ensure we keep those bright ideas and creative juices following. Not mention that day to day you get to collaborate with your teammates and bounce ‘domazing’ ideas off other ‘domazing developers’.

So…what happens next?

We will give your application the attention it deserves and you will hear from us either way. If you have the right experience, one of our Recruitment Consultants will give you a call (so make sure you keep your phone handy!) and from there the interviews will commence.

Interested?

Go on then, click apply, we would love to see your application pop up!

*A note to recruitment agencies: We have this role covered; there is no need to get in touch. We do not accept unsolicited agency resumes and are not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes. Thank you.
