Multimedia Cadet Journalist

McPherson Media Group (MMG), the publisher of Shepparton News and an array of regional and national publications is looking for a Cadet Journalist to join our editorial team and assist in the creation of specialist, niche publications covering sports shooting pursuits as well as a variety of general multimedia products for our strategic partners and general newsroom.

ABOUT YOU:

You will be a budding, driven journalist with an appetite for the sports shooting lifestyle, outdoors pursuits and travels off the beaten track. You take a keen interest in our rivers, bush and wetlands, their conservation, and the wise use of the natural resources they provide. We want someone who will appreciate the opportunity to channel these interests to create extraordinary, gripping and unique content, both for print and digital platforms.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sourcing and writing of material for mainstream as well as specialist industry publications
  • Coordination and editing of content from contributors
  • Assisting in the development of social media content, including creation of video and photography
  • Website management: updates, news, event info, curated content
  • Assisting in creation of podcasts, comms and other materials for our strategic partners
  • Participation in industry events to channel marketing opportunities
