Pastry Sous Chef

An opportunity has arisen to join the culinary services team at Stix Catering working alongside Executive Pastry Chef Florent Rethouze. You will be working amongst a like-minded and passionate team creating a diverse range of catering services including high-end airline catering, corporate catering. tailored private events and produce farming.

We are currently looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to lead our skilled and passionate pastry team. This is a rare opportunity to join a world class team that thrives on team culture and innovation. With our culinary brigade specialising in pastry products made in-house, this role provides plenty of scope to be creative and make your mark on the industry, whilst having the support of management to be an industry leader.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage and control the Pastry production kitchen
  • Plan, coordinate and manage production schedules to ensure the smooth running of the pastry kitchen.
  • Ensures food safety standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are monitored 
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and feedback to support the ongoing development of the Pastry team.
  • Provides guidance and direction to direct reports, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance, providing specific feedback to improve performance

The Successful Candidate:
Ideally, we would like to hear from an effective leader who will drive the team’s success through communication, experience, discipline, productivity, quality, presentation consistency and creative drive.
Have previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of logistics combined with flair and creativity.
Vast experience in Pastry production catering experience with large scale multiple functions over multiple onsite outlets
Proven record of working in a HACCP environment is desirable.
Positive attitude with a forward thinking approach.
