Financial Accountant

ENGIE Services Australia & New Zealand is a leading service business in mechanical, fire, communication & electrical solutions. Employing over 1200 people; we specialise in improving energy performance in the industrial, public and commercial building sectors through developing and implementing cost-saving smart energy and environmental efficiency services. We offer one point of contact for multi-technical services, asset-based energy performance and environmental solutions, assisting customers to achieve energy efficiency, environmental, operational and maintenance objectives.

Role Overview

Located in Fairfield Victoria, the purpose of this position is to:

  • Support key financial accounting activities of ENGIE Services Group, including journal processing, financial statements and consolidation, tax compliance activities and internal reporting
  • Help implement continuous improvements in the accounting function
  • Work with the Business units to deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations
  • Complete monthly BAS Submission for all reporting units and participate in statutory audits
  • Maintenance of month end inter-company schedules and accounts balances
  • Maintenance of the group’s fixed asset register.

Please note, this opportunity will be for a 12 month contract and may require travel to our other branches in Mulgrave, Hallam and Rialto from time to time.

Skills and experience required include:

  • Professional qualification through Chartered Accountants ANZ or CPA Australia or other recognised professional accounting body.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the building services and facility management industry.
  • Ability to drill into large amounts of data to extract meaningful insights for business improvement, analyse core issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex analysis to various management level
  • Strong skills in Excel as well as basic database capabilities, as well as experience with PRONTO ERP.
  • Proficient in Project Accounting and IFRS
  • Exposure working for multinationals and large corporates would be advantageous
